Kathy Rose

Reared in an artistic, academic, and multi-lingual Persian family, Kathy Rose was born in Iran and spent her formative years in California studying and creating various forms of art. Following college courses in art history and theatre arts, Rose worked in fashion and film. Then, as co-founder of the trendsetting West Hollywood luxury boutiques Kaviar And Kind and Roseark, she earned a reputation for presenting limited edition and one-of-a-kind, elegantly artisanal, and avant-garde luxury jewels.

Rose launched her third venture, Argyle And Valentine, in February 2023. “This online business specializes in luxury jewelry and lifestyle creations,” she explains. “Argyle And Valentine will be previewing jewelry and other creations online and in person, by private appointment. In essence,” Rose continues, “Argyle & Valentine is an online environment and physical business that embodies luxury and love, as in love of art and artisanship.” According to jewelry designer Karma El Khalil, whose career Rose launched at Kaviar and Kind, “Love is Kathy's raison d'être. It’s why she produces and presents jewelry, art and lifestyle-related luxuries that are sought after by people from all over the globe.”

Since the 1990s, Rose’s bespoke pieces and high-end custom jewel designs are worn by clients in Los Angeles, New York, London and Miami, as well as worn by creative artists and jewelry collectors like Rihanna, Miley Cyrus, Elizabeth Taylor and Meryl Streep. The hundreds of fine jewels that Rose has created are distinguished by integrity of design, artisanal finesse, superb materials and heirloom value. (All of Rose’s jewels were, and are, handmade by master artisans in Los Angeles.)

As goldsmith and jewelry designer Katey Brunini, founder of K. Brunini notes, “After 25 years of working with Kathy in various incarnations, I see her as a creative force who is able to transcend trends and create a legacy.” Inspired by the visions and creations of young designers, Rose explains, “Argyle And Valentine supports outstanding emerging jewelry talents, along with others I’ve worked with for decades.” Designer Hanut Singh puts Rose’s life’s work in perspective. “Kathy spots talented jewelers, designers and other makers miles away,” he relates, “and then nurtures them on a journey of creativity and collaboration. She leads the Zeitgeist and helps foster the people and processes that make life more meaningful, and alive with beauty.”
